Thanks to Heifer International, looking forward to Sunrise Movement
After more than 12 years, I have decided to leave Heifer International to join Sunrise Movement. I want to thank everyone at Heifer International who helped me flourish in my roles as Director of Finance and Administration for the Americas (2009-2011), Vice President of Enterprise Accounting & Global Controller (2011-2017), and Vice President of Finance Innovation (2017-2022).
I joined Heifer International in 2009 because of the mission to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. I am proud that I was able to help Heifer International in the digital transformation of Finance and Accounting and help initiate the digital transformation of the farmer value chain for market and financial inclusion. I feel blessed and thankful for working with hundreds of people worldwide who are passionate about the mission of supporting small farmers as the guardian of our mother Earth.
I will not forget the mission to Haiti after the earthquake in 2010 (my acceleration onboarding to international development), the Risk Management Program and QuickBooks Enterprise for Not-for-Profit in the Americas (2009-2011), the Heifer Prosper – Deliverable 3 – The Unit 4 ERP Project (2011-2015), the Transformation Scenario Planning (2015), the book «Lessons Learned from an ERP: from the perspective of international accounting of a Non-Governmental Organization (2016-17)», the Digital Currency project (2014-2016), the Blockchain Initiative (2017-present), the summer of 2019 in Honduras for the IBM Food Trust & IBM Watson4Ag, the discovery journey to Malawi (2019-2020), Diem Association (2019-22), the IBM Garage (2021-22), and many other. I will not forget my friends from Heifer & partners and honor those who are no longer with us. I will continue supporting Heifer’s mission from a different perspective at the Sunrise Movement.
Sunrise Movement is one of the leading organizations pushing the public agenda of the Green New Deal to stop climate change. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help with this critical mission for the sustainability of all humanity.
It has been an honor to work with Heifer International, and I look forward to my next journey with the inspiring team at Sunrise Movement.
